Advisors Operations Investment Management
Chief Compliance Officer & Director of Operations
After I graduated from UNI in 2008, I didn’t have a clear understanding of where life could or would take me. There was one thing I knew: I love to help people. When I started with the firm in 2011, I realized that my passion to help people was equally matched by the services and advice we provide through investment management and financial planning. Helping our clients achieve financial success is our priority.
I am an active member and volunteer at Lisbon United Methodist Church. I currently sit as the co-chair of Worship & Nurture Committee which involves organizing worship services and acting as a leader in the praise band. I also volunteer at Waypoint Services in Cedar Rapids.
Spending time with my husband and three children. I also enjoy playing my guitars, singing, canoeing, stand-up paddle boarding, crafting, and reading.
We recently purchased a new home to accommodate our growing family. One of our home-improvement goals is to gradually re-landscape the backyard with a garden and a patio.
As the Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Operations, I am constantly keeping up to date on rules and regulations, along with helping to develop new systems and processes to help best serve and protect our clients. The world of finance is ever-changing, and it’s important for us to stay informed of changes in the markets and legislation.
Balance; paying down liabilities while saving for retirement and future education expenses for the kiddos.
Constantly learning, growing, and challenging myself, both personally and professionally.
I have always been a people person. I enjoy being able to make a personal connection with a client, learn what is important to them, and help them achieve the goals and dreams they have for themselves.
My girlfriend and I volunteer with the Iowa Weimaraner Rescue based in Des Moines. We regularly provide a foster home for rescued Weimaraner’s and get them ready to go to their “fur-ever” home (even if it ends up being OUR home!)
I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend and our ever-changing pack of dogs; FaceTime with her 3 grandchildren; and I also look forward to Hawkeye & Steeler football in the fall.
The anticipated future weddings for my 2 daughters!
I always strive to use the internal resources available to me, as well as listen to my peers, learning from their experience.
A balanced budget is important to me; controlling expenses to allow for limited debt usage and increasing my savings for retirement.
Continually applying fiscal responsibility to my everyday life.
Client Service Associate
I love helping people, I’m excited to learn more about this industry and I am eager to work with clients to help them achieve their financial goals in any way I can.
Currently I volunteer at a local library for their organized toddler reading activities. I am a firm believer in teaching children to love reading at a young age.
Spending time with my son, Anthony. I also enjoy going to the gym, cooking and spending time outdoors.
To buy my first home and put down some roots.
By utilizing my resources, listening to my co-workers and reading new books about the industry. I am constantly learning new things to help grow my knowledge. I also plan to return to school in the near future.
Stability and sticking to a budget. As well as saving for my son’s educational future.
Learning and experiencing as much as I can while I am able, while staying within the limits of a budget and being disciplined.
Director of First Impressions - Cedar Rapids
After a couple of years as a substitute teacher, I knew I was ready for a family. I was able to devote my time and energy to being a full-time mother of four daughters. The opportunity to work within the community again came when I was offered a position as a receptionist for a tax office, which eventually led me to the transition of my position as Office Manager at Basepoint Wealth.
I love making our house a home, and spending time with family and friends. I enjoy healthy eating and walking regularly, as long as it is at least 70°! Our cat, Donovan holds an extra special place in my heart.
Although we are not quite there yet, as empty nesters, my husband and I have our eyes on the prize: RETIREMENT!
I am always learning on the job; constantly asking questions and listening to my coworkers.
See goal I am saving for... RETIREMENT!
Continuing to engage in smart saving and wise investing has shown me that I can reach my goals.
